Outward 2 Closed Beta is LIVE! 5 Essential Survival Tips & #ExploreAurai Contest
The wait is over! As of today, the Outward 2 Closed Beta is officially live. Nine Dots Studio has opened the gates to Aurai once again, offering players a first look at the harsh realities and incredible adventures that await in the sequel.
If you were part of the January playtest, you will get automatic access. Just make sure to update your game!
⚠️ Important: Delete Your Old Saves!
Before you embark on your journey, the developers have issued a critical warning: If you played previous playtests, you MUST delete your old save files to prevent game-breaking bugs.
- Go to your Steam Library.
- Right-click Outward 2 Playtest -> Manage -> Browse Local Files.
- Navigate to
otw2_ue/Saved/and delete theSaveGamesfolder.
5 Essential Tips for the Closed Beta
Surviving in Outward 2 is no joke. The developers have shared five critical tips to help you stay alive during the beta phase:
1. Check Your Vitals!
Outward 2 is a true survival experience. You must manage your basic needs—hunger, thirst, and sleep. Staying well-fed and rested is the foundation of your survival. Don't forget to boost your strength with potions or weapon varnishes before tough encounters!
2. DROP YOUR BAG!
Your backpack is your best friend while traveling, but your worst enemy in combat. Dodging with a heavy backpack will drain your stamina and slow you down. Always drop your backpack before engaging in a fight!
3. Keep Your Pockets Full
Since you'll be fighting without your backpack, your pocket management is crucial. Ensure you have health potions, stamina items, bandages, and ammunition readily available in your pockets.
4. Loot Smartly
Read every recipe you find. Don't be a hoarder! If an item doesn't immediately benefit your current build, sell it or recycle it. Inventory space is at a premium.
5. Play with a Friend
Outward 2 is built from the ground up for co-op. Whether online or via split-screen, exploring Aurai is best experienced with a partner watching your back.
